HENDERSON – Prairie View earned its first bid in the regional volleyball tournament Saturday.

On Sunday, the ThunderHawks learned they were heading to Cheyenne Mountain, along with Broomfield and Rock Canyon high schools, to complete the Region A bracket.

The ThunderHawks were unbeaten through pool play and the crossover round in the district tournament they hosted. By advancing to the title match, Prairie View guaranteed itself a berth in the regional tournament next week. Seedings are due out Nov. 1. Fossil Ridge was the other team to move on from Prairie View's district tournament. The SaberCats won in five sets.

The ThunderHawks swept through pool play without losing set against Silver Creek and Elizabeth. Prairie View then held off Thompson Valley in five sets to move onto the regional tournament.
