Adams City needed three innings to dispatch Manual High School 15-0 in Commerce City Aug. 25.

The Eagles scored eight runs in the first inning to make matters easy.

Louise Diaz homered in the first inning, scored three runs and drove in two. Sherea Ortiz, Rilie Ortega, Leyla Jaquez and Yazmin Caldera had base hits for ACHS. Ortiz and Aubrie Welling had Adams City's other RBIs.

Jaquez was the starting pitcher. She threw a one-hitter and struck out six of the 10 batters she faced.
