Children’s

book exchange

    Aims Community College provides the Children’s Book Exchange from 5 to 8 p.m., every third Tuesday of the month at the Aims Continuing Education Division, 5590 W. 11th St. Parents can trade the books their children have already read for books donated by other parents. It’s a free way to get new-to-you books for children and keep them excited about reading. The books can be kept forever, or they can be exchanged for different ones in upcoming book exchanges. Books should be appropriate for kindergarten through eighth-grade readers. The following dates are scheduled Book Exchange events: July 21, Aug. 18. For information, call 970-545-0655.

St. Vrain sponsors free summer lunch program

    The St. Vrain Valley School District sponsors the Summer Nutrition Meal Service Program through July 30. A free lunch will be provided to all children, ages 1-18 years of age at specified sites throughout the district. Adult lunches are available for $3. All children are welcome – you do not need to fill out forms or qualify in any way.

    The Frederick Elementary site will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. All school sites are closed  Fridays.
