Russell Delbert Crystal, 49, of Longmont, died May 27, 2009. at Longmont United Hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1959, in Glendale, Calif., to Delbert and Nancy (Cooper) Crystal.
He moved to Longmont in 1987 from California. Russell married Debbie Ryan Oct. 18, 1997 in Berthoud. He was the owner and operator of Crystal Design and Manufacturing since 1991.
Russell was also a rescue diver and a part-owner of the Scuba Shack Dive Store in Frederick. Russell volunteered with the Special Olympics in California and worked as a volunteer for mentally disabled adults in Boulder County.
Survivors include his wife, of Longmont; his mother, Nancy Crystal; a brother, Wes Crystal; one niece; one nephew; and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Crystal. Graveside service and inurnment is at 1 p.m., June 3, at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Cremation was handled at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation and sent to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
