Robert Lee Ceretto

    Robert Lee Ceretto Jr., 74, of Fort Lupton, died Nov. 26, 2008, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit of Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

    Robert was born March 26, 1934, in Fort Lupton, to Robert S. Ceretto and Katherine Muriel Hannaman Ceretto. Robert attended Fort Lupton schools and graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1952.  He attended Colorado University for one semester. He worked as an assistant manager at Deason Drug, Easterday Drug and Dale Pharmacy in Fort Lupton for 43 years. Before that, he worked at his father’s service station for three years and was in the Army for two years as battery clerk for “C” Battery 516th AAA Msl Bn from 1954 to 1956. He transferred to the Army Reserve to complete eight years of service. He married Vicki Brown Aug. 17, 1969.

    Robert was a retired member of the Fort Lupton Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Lupton and American Legion Post #102, a past member of Fort Lupton Rotary Club and Masonic Lodge no. 119 A.F. & A.M.

    Robert was a devoted husband and father. He was a resident of Life Care and Kenton Manor for almost six years.

    Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kenna (Greg) Hirschfield of Durham, N.C., and Stacey Thieman of Fort Lupton; one sister, Shirley Olin of Platteville; one brother, Ron (Judy) Ceretto of Fort Lupton; two step-sisters, Marlene (Rich) Stieber and Sue (Joe) Hubert, both of Fort Lupton; a step-brother, Raymond (Nina) Davis of Lyons; a sister-in-law, Sharon Ceretto of Fort Lupton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Robert was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Phyllis Burge Ceretto; a brother, Jesse Paul Ceretto; and brother-in-law, Ray Olin. 

    Services were Dec. 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Lupton. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery in Fort Lupton.

    Contributions may be made to the Robert L. Ceretto Jr. Memorial Fund in care of Bank of Colorado, 111 S. Rollie Ave., Fort Lupton.  Adamson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
