U.S. veteran Ray Arthur Saxton, 85, of Brighton, died Dec. 31, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Eaton, Colorado. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific Theatre during World War II. He earned numerous medals including the Purple Heart. He carried his Marine Corps ideals throughout his life. He was a husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Doris; son, Jim; and daughter, Bonnie; two grandchildren,
Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery with full military honors.
