COMMERCE CITY – Police are investigating a possible shooting that followed a report of a disturbance at an area bar. Commerce City police responded to a report of a fight involving several men inside and outside of the El Viva Villa Bar and Grill, 5411 Quebec St., about 7 p.m., Nov. 15.

While the fight was taking place, shots were fired. One unidentified man was transported to an area hospital with an injury to his head. His injuries were unclear. Medical staffers first informed police the mansustained a single gunshot wound to the head. However, they also speculated the man may have been hit in the head with an unknown object.

The man is expected to survive his injuries.

Police detectives are continuing their investigation and attempting to interview witnesses and victims.

The only information the Commerce City Police Department has about a possible suspect is a Hispanic male, late 20s to early 30s, last seen fleeing the scene in a red Dodge Durango or Ford SUV.
