New girls hoops coach named

HENDERSON – Prairie View’s girls basketball team has had three coaches in its three years of play.

    Rachel Hahn hopes that trend stops. She’s the new coach for the ThunderHawks replacing Joe Mattingly, who stepped down to spend more time with his family.

    “They have experienced a lot of change and not had any stability in the program,” she said. “Any new program would struggle. The challenge will be to redefine the team again and start to create tradition in the girls program. We also have a young team next year. It will be a challenge to develop leaders in the program.”
