Lucy S. Gallardo, 90, of Brighton, died June 30, 2009, at her home.
She was born Aug. 5, 1918, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jose and Otilia Savala.
She married Jose O. Gallardo in 1942. Lucy lived in Mitchell, Neb., Sidney, Neb., North Platte, Neb., and Denver. She became a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church after she moved to Brighton and enjoyed a number of activities, including mountain gambling, dancing and sewing.
Survivors include sons, Manuel (Lucy), of Lincoln, Neb., Victoria Gallardo, of Brighton, Genoveva Gallardo, of Brighton, and Daniel (Sandra), of Pueblo, 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson; a great-grandson, and close friend, Toby DeLeon, of Denver.
Mass of Christian burial was July 6 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Brighton. Interment was July 7 at Silverthorne Cemetery in Morrill, Neb..
