Jose “Jerry” Sanchez, 58, of Brighton, died Nov. 17, 2008, in Brighton.
He was born Oct. 21, 1950, in Llano Largo, N.M., to Nickomeres Sanchez and Manuelita Lovato. Jerry attended Brighton Public Schools.
He worked grounds maintenance for Colorado University in Boulder for 21 years and retired in 2003. He loved to fish with his brother Ben and hunt with his brothers Ed and Manuel. Two years ago, on his birthday, Jerry took his first big bull elk – a monumental event in the lives of his family. He savored time with his family.
Survivors include his brothers, Elmer (Florence) and Joe (Pemenia), both of Llano Largo, Ben (Gladys) and Manuel (JoAnn), both of Thornton, Nick of Florida, Ed (Evan) of Brighton, and Max (Sylvia) of Commerce City; sister, Diana (Joseph) Medina of Brighton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Brighton. Mass of Christian burial is at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, also at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brighton.
