Johnita S. Green, 52, of Kearney, Neb., died March 11, 2009, at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Aurora.

She was born Dec. 12, 1956, in Holdrege, Neb., to John and Sylvia (Hutfles) Sattler. She grew up in Bertrand, Neb. and graduated from Bertrand High School in 1975. She received her LPN degree from Central Community College in 1990. She worked as a licensed nurse for the Phelps Memorial Hospital. She married Jim Green Jan. 17, 2004 in Kearney. They made their home in Kearney. She was the owner and manager of Green Valley Stone in Kearney. She was a member of the New Life Assembly where she served on mission trips.

Survivors include her parents; her husband; son, Cory Fox, of Omaha, Neb.; step-son, Joey Green, of Kearney; daughter, Wendy Fox and her fiancé, David Boesch of Holdrege; step-daughters, Jennifer, Jessica, and Julianne Green all of Kearney; two grandchildren; brothers, Gerard Sattler of Bertrand, David (Jane) Sattler, of Kearney, and John (Colleen) Sattler, of Clive, Iowa; sisters, Denise (Tim) of Arapahoe, Neb.; Gina (Corby) Jensen, of O’Fallon, Mo.; and Susie (Rusty) Conrad, of Kearney; 17 nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law Edna Green of Brighton.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Memorial services were March 16 at New Life Assembly in Kearney. Interment will be at a later date.

O’Brien-Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.
