It had been seven years, six months, and six days since the last home soccer game for Eagle Ridge Academy. And that game wasn’t even played at the school; it was held down the road at Donelson Park in Brighton. Up until 2023, the team had to play on neutral turf or on an opponent’s home field, even when they were the dedicated “home team.”
Hunter Hill has no shortage of individual accolades. But the Eagle Ridge Academy senior basketball player is still a team-first kind of guy. So much so, that he had no idea he was approaching the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer pedestal. One of his teammates had to tell him.
Adams City’s Phoebe Gutierrez had quite the first season in girls wrestling this winter. She won a regional title. She finished second in the state tournament at 100 pounds and earned second-team, all-state recognition from the Colorado High School Activities Association and MaxPreps.
There’s more: Gutierrez also earned a spot in the U.S. Open in Las Vegas later this month.
